We help our clients understand their information technology needs, manage the change required, and deliver on solutions either directly or as the vendor management team.

GVC’s head office is located in the Yaletown area of Vancouver BC and with consultants also working in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario. The company currently has 20+ technical, consulting and project management staff / contractors and plans to add additional staff and consulting resources 2010.

Overall Position Description

This position requires an individual who is able to lead, coordinate and report on day-to-day project activities. This individual coordinates a diverse team of professionals to ensure that project tasks are completed on time and within budget. They are the liaison between the client and the project team, and are responsible for delivery from inception to sign-off.

The skills and experience we require include:

  1. Post-secondary education in Health Informatics, Information Management or Information Technology (or equivalent) with 3+ years of project manager / project analyst experience in the healthcare industry
  2. Ability to document and maintain project management artifacts, including project charters, project plans, project schedules, budgets, resource management plans, communication plans, etc.
  3. Manage project decision, issue and risk logs
  4. Experience using project management and reporting tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Powerpoint, Excel)
  5. Experience in software development lifecycle activities in an integrated technical environment
  6. Strong leadership and ability to manage groups to determine project plans and status
  7. Manage assigned project activities to meet the timelines, budget and stakeholder requirements set out in work breakdown structures, project schedules and other related plans (e.g. test, quality, training).
  8. Background in business or technical analysis an asset
  9. PMP or equivalent certification an asset
  10. Reporting activity status to a management level
  11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  12. The ability to effectively deal with remote teams and users
  13. Ability to travel
