(GVC) Announces Release of GVC.SiteMaker v2.5 for Public Licensing with Ann Arbor Public Schools (AAPS) and The University of Michigan (U-M) as the First Clients VANCOUVER, CANADA, July 22, 2002: Global Village Consulting Inc., a leading developer of object-oriented web based applications, announced today that it has released GVC.SiteMaker 2.5, a user focused website creation and management product. With this release, GVC has now begun a marketing campaign targeting learning institutions, such as Public School Boards and Universities, with the Ann Arbor, Michigan Public Schools (AAPS) and the University of Michigan (U-M) being the first clients of the new version. GVC.SiteMaker v2.5 builds on the previous versions to include the added features of distributed template/style creation and administration. GVC.SiteMaker was originally created by U-M and Apple iServices to address the web-publishing needs of faculty, students and staff. A partnership was created between GVC and U-M to further develop and market the product for worldwide use. As a result of GVC.SiteMaker is extremely flexible, yet requires no training or experience with HTML. The GVC.SiteMaker product is designed to overcome the practical difficulties people face when trying to put their pages into production. GVC.SiteMaker transparently handles finding the right directory to deposit files, designing layouts and navigation tools, and making pages and files accessible to selected visitors. GVC.SiteMaker also allows either distributed or centralized administrative control of websites (such as creating and naming them) depending on the needs of the organization. GVC.SiteMaker (standard version) is designed for organizations requiring user authentication from within the GVC.SiteMaker system. Alternatively, a client can opt for the organizational version of the product.
