VANCOUVER, CANADA, Feb 21, 2001: Global Village Consulting Inc., a leading developer of Object Oriented web based applications, today announced it has completed the development of an eCommerce web site for Lugaro Jewellers Ltd. Vancouver based Lugaro Jewellers, is a multi-store jewellery chain specializing in the unique design and sale of diamond and precious gemstone jewellery.

Lugaro contracted Global Village to develop an eCommerce web site platform capable of supporting product catalogue updates, shopper-designed items, on-line order placement, and handling of shipping and tax calculations. The application enables Lugaro to
securely share order information and business data with its various internal departments, such as sales, administration, production, and shipping to ensure the successful completion of online sales.

The storefront itself is presented to the user in an elegant yet simple to use manner and was developed by Global Village Consulting in conjunction with Swivel Media. The designed system includes a unique feature, which allows the customer to custom build engagement rings for purchase. From a listed selection, the customer can determine the diamond carats, size, colour, and shape, the setting preference, and the gold carats of the ring. Customers may also choose other items to purchase from the general jewellery catalogue. The system calculates related costs, such as item, shipping and relevant taxes, and reports this information to the shipping department. Administrators of the system can readily update available items and any relevant information provided
on the site.

Lugaro is currently considering a second phase to this project. Future development would enable the eCommerce application to give the company full control of its enterprise data and allow for the management of the entire order process from the buy button to
the consumer's doorstep, once the required internal structures have been put into place. Individual store locations would be linked to ensure enterprise wide customer and sales management. The next phase of back-end capabilities will have a huge impact on
operational efficiency and customer service.
